A mass poisoning incident occurred during a wedding ceremony held in Hajihatamli village of the Ismayilli district.
24 people sought medical attention at the Goychay District Central Hospital with symptoms of poisoning. According to the medical facility, the patients received initial medical aid and were discharged as their condition improved.
The Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AQTA) has launched an investigation into the incident. Agency specialists, together with representatives of relevant authorities, conducted an initial inspection at the scene and collected food samples for laboratory testing. Appropriate measures will be taken based on the results of the investigation.
AQTA has once again reminded the public of the importance of strictly adhering to food storage conditions and temperature regimes during mass events held in the summer months.
