A protest against the arrival of the Crown Iris cruise ship, which was carrying Israeli citizens, took place in the town of Agios Nikolaos on the island of Crete. Several dozen activists gathered in the port area before the vessel's arrival.
According to the News Hub publication, rally participants unfurled a large Palestinian flag and chanted anti-Israel slogans. Police officers monitored the situation on-site. The protesters stated that they did not want to see Israeli tourists in the town, linking their demands to the war in the Gaza Strip.
The organizers of the rally described the liner as a "Zionist cruise ship" and demanded that the Greek authorities tighten entry rules for Israelis. In particular, there were calls to introduce a visa regime and increase checks on IDF soldiers and reservists arriving in the country regarding their possible involvement in hostilities in Gaza.
According to the source, no physical clashes were reported between the rally participants and the ship's passengers.
