The official visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the United States has begun. High-level meetings in Washington are centered around the situation surrounding Iran and regional security issues.

This marks the eighth face-to-face meeting between the leaders since the start of U.S. President Donald Trump’s second presidential term. In these first in-person discussions following the conflict with Iran that began in late February, the sides are reviewing strategic steps.

In a press statement, President Donald Trump noted that while there are some tactical disagreements on the Iran issue, the positions remain close on the main course. Netanyahu, for his part, emphasized that the primary goal of the visit is to ensure Israel’s security and strengthen a joint strategy against threats.

The negotiations at the White House also cover the implementation of the ceasefire framework on the Israel-Lebanon border, the humanitarian situation in Gaza, and the expansion of the Abraham Accords. Additionally, according to foreign media reports, Trump is receiving both Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy separately at the White House today to conduct contacts aimed at resolving global conflicts.

As part of the visit, the Israeli Prime Minister is also scheduled to attend a memorial service for the late American Senator Lindsey Graham to pay his final respects.
