Israeli security agencies report an increased risk associated with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the West Bank of the Jordan River. In recent weeks, dozens of UAVs have been detected and confiscated by the Israeli army in the region.
According to reports, security structures do not rule out the possibility that Iran is attempting to implement the drone tactics it uses in Lebanon in the West Bank as well. Although there is currently no confirmed evidence of the use of kamikaze drones in the region, military forces are confiscating all detected UAVs as a precautionary measure.
Leaders of border settlements, however, state that the threat is no longer theoretical but real. According to them, some drones are manufactured locally, while others are presumed to be brought into the region via Iran.
Officials believe that if such a UAV were to reach Tel Aviv, it could take approximately 6 minutes. For this reason, local communities are demanding the army install additional radar systems, surveillance equipment, and electronic anti-drone measures.
