Attending
The 2026 Grand Prix falls on 26 September — a Saturday, for the first time. Here is what to understand in advance.

When and what happens
A race weekend traditionally takes three days: free practice, qualifying and the race. In 2026 the Azerbaijan Grand Prix is set for 26 September, and that is a Saturday — the date was moved forward by a day at the request of the promoter and government stakeholders so that the round would not fall on Remembrance Day.
The circuit is in the city centre, so there is no separate “road to the track”: people walk to the grandstands from the metro stations in the centre, from the boulevard or from the Old City. Allow extra time — part of the streets are closed during the weekend.
Tickets, grandstand maps and the exact session schedule are published by the circuit operator. We deliberately give no prices or hours here: they change from season to season and must be checked on the official site.

Frequently asked questions
When is the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in 2026?
The race is set for 26 September 2026. It falls on a Saturday: the round was moved forward by a day so as not to coincide with Remembrance Day. Free practice and qualifying take place on the preceding days of the weekend.
Why is the race on Saturday rather than Sunday?
The promoter of the round and Azerbaijani government stakeholders asked for it, because of Remembrance Day. For Formula 1 this is a rare exception: races are normally held on Sunday.
Where does the track run?
Right through the centre of Baku: the start and finish are by Azadliq Square and Government House, then a loop around İçərişəhər and a long stretch along Neftchilar Avenue by the sea.
How much are tickets and where do I buy them?
Prices and grandstand maps are published by the circuit operator, Baku City Circuit. We do not quote sums: they change every season, and the only reliable source is the official site.
Can I see the race without a ticket?
Part of the track is visible from open city vantage points, but only the grandstands give a full view. During the weekend the centre is partly closed and access to the track is limited.
What else is there to see during those days?
The track loops around the Old City and the boulevard, so between sessions you can walk to the Maiden Tower, the Shirvanshahs' Palace and the waterfront in ten to fifteen minutes.
