1,400 tons of wheat transported to Armenia through the territory of Azerbaijan

Another cargo shipment from Russia has been dispatched to Armenia in transit through the territory of Azerbaijan.

Today, a train consisting of 20 wagons was dispatched from Bilajari station towards Boyuk Kesik. The wagons are transporting a total of 1,400 tonnes of wheat.

According to reports, this is the next stage of transit transport between Russia and Armenia carried out through Azerbaijan.

Volume of transit cargo passing through Azerbaijan

To date, the following goods have been sent from Russia to Armenia in transit through Azerbaijan:

  • Over 39,000 tonnes of grain; 
  • Nearly 9,000 tonnes of fertilizer; 
  • 1,136 tonnes of propane; 
  • 133 tonnes of aluminum; 
  • 1,114 tonnes of coal; 
  • 67,000 tonnes of timber.

In addition, nearly 15,000 tonnes of diesel fuel, as well as approximately 5,000 tonnes of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline, have been exported from Azerbaijan to Armenia.

These shipments are part of the transit process carried out toward the normalization of economic and transport links between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
