More than 25 kilograms of dried marijuana was discovered in a shipment of peppers being transported in transit from Iran to Russia through the territory of Azerbaijan.
The incident occurred at the “Astara” customs post. According to the State Customs Committee, a vehicle carrying a cargo of “peppers” from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation was inspected using a stationary X-ray unit and a sniffer dog.
During the inspection, 55 packages hidden at the bottom of crates loaded with peppers and covered with peppers were discovered. Dried marijuana with a total net weight of 25 kilograms and 75 grams was seized from the packages.
An investigation is underway into the fact.
