Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ronen Krausz visited the cities of Ganja and Mingachevir on August 5-6. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Israel, develop interregional cooperation, and explore new opportunities for collaboration in the economic, cultural, humanitarian, agricultural, and energy sectors.
On the first day of the visit, the ambassador met with Niyazi Bayramov, Head of the Ganja City Executive Power. During the meeting, the prospects for developing existing cooperation between the two countries and expanding interregional ties were discussed.
Ronen Krausz and his delegation visited the Ganja Memorial Complex to pay tribute to the civilians killed as a result of Armenian missile strikes, laying flowers at the memorial.
The delegation also visited the Ganja Winery and the mausoleum of the great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi. In Goygol, the ambassador learned about the local German heritage, visited raspberry orchards, and later met with the founders of By Aurum Girls LLC in Ochbulag village to learn about their agricultural projects.
On the second day of the visit, Ronen Krausz met with Ilham Ismayilov, Head of the Mingachevir City Executive Power. The meeting covered the socio-economic development, industrial, and energy potential of the city, as well as future cooperation prospects.
The ambassador paid tribute to national leader Heydar Aliyev by laying flowers at his bust. Later, the delegation visited the Mingachevir Hydroelectric Power Station, the Azerbaijan Thermal Power Station, the Mingachevir Reservoir, and the Mingachevir Industrial Park, becoming acquainted with Azerbaijan’s energy infrastructure and industrial potential.
The visit is regarded as an important step toward expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel at the regional level, identifying new partnership opportunities, and further strengthening existing friendly relations between the two countries.
