The "Azot" chemical plant, located in Russia's Tula region, has been attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles.
Explosions and the sound of drones flying were heard for several hours during the night.
According to the monitoring channel "Exilenova+", after the attack, the smell of ammonia was detected in the air, and some areas experienced power supply problems.
The channel reported that after the attack, NASA's FIRMS system recorded a fire in the area of the Novomoskovsk Thermal Power Plant. The incident was also confirmed by Dmitry Milyaev, the governor of the Tula region. He stated that one of the industrial enterprises in the city of Novomoskovsk was damaged but did not name the enterprise.
"Azot" is considered one of Russia's largest chemical enterprises. The plant produces ammonia, nitric acid, methanol, and mineral fertilizers. It also produces chemical raw materials used in the manufacture of explosives and ammunition.
