Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf sharply criticized the US statements regarding Iran's frozen assets. Qalibaf reacted strongly to Washington's position in a post on his "X" social media account.
The speaker sarcastically addressed US claims that Iran's frozen funds could be used to purchase American agricultural products.
"America falsely claims that our unfrozen assets will buy their agricultural products. Interesting. The only product we harvest is the one you sow: distrust accumulated over decades. This is natural, abundant, and locally produced. It seems the US only exports genetically modified (GMO) soybeans, unfulfilled promises, and empty talk," Qalibaf stated.
Disagreements between Iran and the US continue over the fate of frozen assets and the use of these funds for humanitarian purposes. This issue remains one of the main areas of diplomatic tension between the two countries in recent times.
