President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed an order recalling Huseyn Rzagulu oghlu Guliyev from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Huseyn Guliyev was appointed Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan on October 31, 2012. He assumed his duties in Tashkent in early 2013.
Huseyn Rzagulu oghlu Guliyev was born on June 23, 1946, in Nakhchivan. In 1970, he graduated from the M. Azizbekov Azerbaijan State Institute of Oil and Chemistry with a degree in process engineering.
Over the years, he worked in the Soviet Union’s state security structures, held diplomatic positions at Soviet embassies in Cyprus and Türkiye, and also served in the foreign intelligence system.
Since 2007, Huseyn Guliyev continued his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, where he held senior positions. In 2012, he was awarded the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
For his many years of productive service in Azerbaijan’s diplomatic corps, Huseyn Guliyev was awarded the First Class Order “For Service to the Fatherland.”
