A 34-year-old ambulance driver in Israel has been detained on suspicion of spying and gathering intelligence for Iran.

According to the Ynet news outlet, the suspect used his official access to the medical facilities where he worked to gather information and take photographs of sites of interest to Iran.

It is alleged that he also photographed the head of state during Israeli President Isaac Herzog's visit to a hospital in the city of Nahariya.
