A massive fire broke out at a large logistics center belonging to the Wildberries company in the Penza region of Russia. Following the incident, footage showing the warehouse completely engulfed in flames spread on social networks.
According to preliminary information, the fire started as a result of a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attack during the night. The governor of the Penza region, Oleg Melnichenko, confirmed that the region was subjected to a drone attack. According to him, a large-scale fire broke out on the territory of the logistics center after the attack.
Numerous firefighting brigades were deployed to the scene. Efforts were made to extinguish the blaze. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.
The burning logistics complex covered an area of 90,000 square meters and was considered one of Wildberries' largest distribution centers in the Volga Federal District. The company had planned to double the facility's area in the future.
The warehouse's operations are reported to be paralyzed as a result of the fire. Footage circulated on social networks shows that a large part of the building was seriously damaged by the flames. The amount of material damage has not yet been disclosed.
It should be noted that in recent months, against the backdrop of the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia, the number of drone attacks on logistics centers, industrial enterprises, and objects of military significance located in various regions of Russia has increased.
