President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received United World Wrestling President Nenad Lalovic on July 29.
During the conversation, the head of state recalled with satisfaction his previous meeting with Nenad Lalovic.
Expressing his honor to meet with the Azerbaijani President, the guest emphasized the high-level organization of the U17 World Wrestling Championships held in Baku and thanked President Ilham Aliyev for this and for his overall support of United World Wrestling's activities.
Highlighting the development of wrestling in the country, Nenad Lalovic recalled that various international wrestling competitions have been held in Azerbaijan and noted their successful cooperation with the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation.
President Ilham Aliyev touched upon the significance of the U17 World Wrestling Championships in Baku for the future success of young athletes and noted the importance of continuing to organize such sporting events in the country.
The head of state emphasized that Azerbaijani wrestlers have achieved very important victories to date.
The meeting noted that wrestling has rich traditions in the country and touched upon the work done at the state level for its development.
The sides exchanged views on cooperation issues between Azerbaijan and United World Wrestling.
