President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received on June 21 a delegation led by Mazen Torqi Saud Al-Qadi, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
According to jnews.az, the Head of State noted that relations between Azerbaijan and Jordan are based on friendship and brotherhood, emphasizing that the countries have always demonstrated mutual support. He expressed confidence that cooperation in political, economic, humanitarian, inter-parliamentary, and other fields will further expand in the future.
President Ilham Aliyev, speaking about the importance of Mazen Torqi Saud Al-Qadi’s participation in the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to be held in Baku, noted that this visit would contribute to the development of bilateral relations and also create a good opportunity to discuss the prospects of cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
Mazen Torqi Saud Al-Qadi conveyed greetings from King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of Jordan to President Ilham Aliyev.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude for the greetings and asked that his own greetings be conveyed to the King of Jordan. The Head of State invited King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein to visit Azerbaijan.
The guest expressed gratitude to the President for the reception and hospitality, describing it as a reflection of the existing friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Jordan.
He noted with satisfaction the successful development of relations between the two countries as a result of the political will of the President of Azerbaijan and the King of Jordan.
The guest stated that Azerbaijan, as a result of the far-sighted and wise policy of President Ilham Aliyev, has become a beautiful and safe country. He also noted that the strong unity between the people and the government in Azerbaijan demonstrates the ensuring of social justice in the country through the policies implemented by the Head of State.
Mazen Torqi Saud Al-Qadi noted that Azerbaijan always pays great attention to cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, as well as to issues concerning the Arab and Islamic world, and consistently supports Islamic solidarity. He emphasized that Azerbaijan’s principled and just position on the Palestinian issue is highly appreciated.
The guest once again congratulated Azerbaijan on the restoration of its territorial integrity and sovereignty, emphasizing the large-scale reconstruction and development works in Karabakh and East Zangezur under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
Mazen Torqi Saud Al-Qadi also noted that the beauty and cleanliness of Baku city had made a deep impression on him.
Expressing gratitude for the kind words, the Head of State in turn noted that Jordan is also successfully developing under the leadership of King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein.
President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan always supports Islamic solidarity and consistently supports the two-state solution on the Palestinian issue, with East Jerusalem as the capital.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on the prospects of relations, future contacts, and other issues of mutual interest.
