Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles struck the personal office of Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the autonomous Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and the home of the head of the Security and Intelligence Directorate. The head of the Kurdish government reported this on his X social media page.

According to Barzani, the targets of the attacks were confirmed through an investigation conducted by the Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Service. The strikes hit facilities directly connected to senior Kurdish officials.

The Prime Minister strongly condemned the incident, describing the actions as ‘reckless and unacceptable.’ He emphasized that the attack represents a ‘dangerous escalation’ and poses a direct threat to the region’s security and stability.

The head of the autonomous government also added that these attacks will not prevent the authorities from fulfilling their duties and continuing their work to protect citizens.

The incident raised deep concerns about the overall security situation in the Middle East. Kurdistan authorities warned of the risks of a further rise in tensions between Iran and the autonomous region.
