As part of the Camden Fringe festival, one of the main events of London’s independent theatre scene, a number of plays featuring Jewish creators are presented. The festival will continue until August 30.
The programme features works in various genres prepared by Jewish actors, playwrights and directors. Among them is the play «Belated», written and performed by Israeli playwright and actress Lola Fishbein, who lives in London. The project was created in collaboration with Israeli-Palestinian composer, songwriter and director Mira Awad. The play touches on themes of love, family, life changes and starting anew.
This year’s festival programme brings together more than 450 performances across 39 venues. In addition to theatre plays, the programme also features comedy, music, opera, improvisation and dance projects.
Plays created with the participation of Jewish creators at the festival cover topics such as personal stories, relationships, identity and modern life. «Earworm» by Gur Arie Piepskovitz, an Israeli currently living in London, explores the feelings that arise after the end of a relationship through music and dark humor.
Theatre lovers can watch independent theatre works featuring Jewish creators as part of Camden Fringe until the end of August.
