The farewell ceremony for People's Artist Alexander Sharovsky will take place on September 9 at 14:30 at the Azerbaijan State Academic Russian Drama Theatre.
According to Jnews.az, the Ministry of Culture released the statement.
It was noted that the burial ceremony will be held at the Second Alley of Honor.
Alexander Sharovsky, who passed away today, was born on February 10, 1948, in Baku. He began his career as an actor at the Azerbaijan State Theatre of Young Spectators in 1967. Working at the Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theatre since 1976, Sharovsky became a staging director in 1991 and chief director of the theatre in 1993.
Over many years, the People's Artist made significant contributions to the development of Azerbaijani theatre art. He created over 50 stage roles, starred in 4 films, and directed 54 productions. Sharovsky was awarded the title of Honored Artist in 1988 and People's Artist in 1998. He was also decorated with the Shohrat and Sharaf orders, as well as the Gizil Dervish and Humay awards.
Alexander Sharovsky was also the head of the Baku Religious Community of European Jews.
