Hundreds of local residents in the British city of Portsmouth held a protest against the country’s migration policy. The protest was triggered by the arrival of approximately 140 migrants in a small boat on the shores of England.
Jnews.az reports that protesters blocked roads in the city, attempting to prevent the migrants from being transported away from the area. Police intervened to maintain public order and reopen the roads.
As a result of the tension, a confrontation broke out between the protesters and law enforcement officers. Police forces took special measures at the scene and issued a dispersal order to restore order in the area.
