A high-level negotiation process involving representatives of the United States, Iran, as well as the mediating countries Qatar and Pakistan, has begun in Switzerland.
This was reported by the TASS news agency.
A statement issued by official Doha noted that Qatar is participating in this summit as a mediator.
The expectation from these meetings is to reach a comprehensive and lasting agreement encompassing all aspects covered by the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran.
Negotiations and Delegations
Majid bin Mohammed Al-Ansari, the official spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that special technical groups have been formed to conduct negotiations on the provisions of the final agreement. At the same time, monitoring groups have also been established to oversee the implementation of the provisions stipulated in the memorandum.
The Iranian delegation is headed by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
The United States is represented in the talks by Vice President J.D. Vance, the President’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
