On August 23, the 3rd meeting of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Supreme Interstate Council was held in Tashkent, with the participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
On the same day, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived in Uzbekistan for a state visit. A guard of honor was lined up in honor of the head of state at the Tashkent-Xumo International Airport.
President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were welcomed at the airport by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and his wife Ziroatxon Mirziyoyeva.
